Your therapist shares games, books and activities on screen and directs play with the things you have at home. For toddlers, a caregiver sits alongside and becomes part of the session; older children and teens often work more independently. - Telepractice is recognised by ASHA as an appropriate way to deliver speech-language services when it suits the child and the goals. On the free consult we'll tell you honestly whether it's a good fit — and if we think in-home would serve your child better, we'll say so. - You'll need a laptop or tablet with a camera, a stable internet connection and a quiet-ish corner. We send a short guide before the first session so setup takes minutes, not an evening. What to expect ## How an online session goes. 1 ### Setup and check-in Camera on, toys nearby, two minutes on how the week went. 2 ### Screen and floor Interactive activities on screen, real play on your floor — your therapist directs both. 3 ### Caregiver as co-therapist For young children you run the activity; your therapist coaches you live. 4 ### The plan for the week Two or three things to practise, sent to you in writing after the session. Who it's for ## Who teletherapy suits best. - Families outside the areas our therapists visit in person - School-age children and teens working on language, literacy, stuttering or social communication - Busy households where travel time is the barrier - Children who focus well with a screen and a familiar grown-up beside them - Families adding sessions between home visits, for goals that need frequent practice - Continuity when a family moves or travels Questions parents ask ## Before you book ### Does online therapy work for toddlers? It can, when a caregiver is part of the session — the therapist coaches you to run the play, which is exactly how early-language therapy works in person too. Very young children who can't yet engage with a screen may do better with home visits; we'll tell you which we recommend. ### Is the video secure? Yes. Sessions run on a platform built for healthcare use, and nothing is recorded without your written consent. ### What if the connection drops? It happens. Your therapist will call you to reconnect, and if a session is badly disrupted we'll make the time up. ### How much does it cost? We'll tell you on the consult call and put it in writing before you book.
