Insurance & payment

# Making your options easier to understand.

KidSLP is a private-pay practice. Here's what that means, how out-of-network benefits work, and exactly what you'll know before your first visit.

### Private pay

You pay KidSLP directly at the time of service — card, HSA or FSA. No claims, no waiting for authorizations, no visit limits set by a plan.

Contact us for current rates and payment options.

### Out-of-network benefits

Many plans reimburse part of the cost of out-of-network speech-language services. Each month we give you a superbill with everything your plan needs. Reimbursement is decided by your plan, not by us.

### Insurance plans

KidSLP is currently out of network with all insurance plans. If that changes, this page will say so — we won't list a plan until we're actually participating.

Before your first visit

## You'll have the cost in writing.

- Before your evaluation and before therapy begins, KidSLP gives you a written estimate of expected costs — a **Good Faith Estimate** — and keeps a copy on file. [Read the Good Faith Estimate notice →](https://kidslp.com/good-faith-estimate?hsLang=en)
- You'll also get our cancellation policy in writing: sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged the full session fee.

Will my plan cover it?

## Coverage varies — even within one insurer.

### Ask your plan, before you start

The only way to know what you'll pay is to ask your plan directly, before you start. Plans differ on:

- Deductibles and coinsurance
- Visit limits per year
- Prior authorization
- Referral or prescription rules
- Medical-necessity wording
- Diagnosis exclusions

We'll give you our practice details — NPI, tax ID and billing codes — so the call is quick.

Verifying benefits is not a guarantee of coverage or payment. Your plan decides what it reimburses.

### Before you call your insurer

1. Does my plan include outpatient speech-language pathology benefits?
2. Do I have out-of-network benefits? (KidSLP is out of network with all plans.)
3. Do I have a deductible? How much has been met?
4. What is my copay or coinsurance for speech-language services?
5. Is prior authorization required?
6. Is a physician referral or prescription required?
7. Are there limits on the number of visits?
8. Are evaluations covered separately from therapy?
9. How do I submit a superbill?

Insurance FAQ

## Plain answers

### What is a superbill?

An itemized receipt with the codes and details your insurer needs to consider out-of-network reimbursement. We give you one each month; you submit it.

### Does a superbill mean I'll be reimbursed?

No. Your plan decides whether services are covered and how much, if anything, it pays back.

### What is a deductible? Coinsurance?

A deductible is what you pay before your plan starts paying. Coinsurance is the percentage of an eligible charge you're responsible for after that.

### Can I use an HSA or FSA?

Yes. Speech-language therapy is generally an eligible expense; check your account's rules.

## Every voice grows differently. Let's talk about yours.

Fifteen minutes with a licensed speech-language pathologist. No forms about your child's health, no commitment — just a conversation about what you're noticing.

Insurance coverage and reimbursement are determined by each family's individual health plan. Verification of benefits does not guarantee payment or coverage.
